How to install Box drive on MacBook Pro (macOS Big Sur) version 11.1
Hello
I have a box account and used it on windows. Now I bought a MacBook Pro with macOS big sur version 11.1 software. Though I installed the box drive soft ware, a message is coming saying that the loading of extension has failed and asks for quitting the programme. Can you pl help me with steps to install it properly?

Hi Devi and Lei,
I'm really sorry to hear about the issue you encounter with Box Drive.
At present, there's a known issue with Box Drive's compatibility with the new Apple M1 chipset. Our team is diligently working for a fix in a future release to support both Intel-based, and M1-based Mac machines so please look forward to it.
On the other hand, if you are a customers running Big Sur and not on a device running Apple's new M1 chip, we recommend enabling the system extension and rebooting as advised in the error message. If the issue persist, I recommend that you share this screenshot and provide as much information as you can and submit a ticket to our support team so they can take a look and help you further troubleshoot the issue.
If you need to submit a support ticket, please click on the “Contact Support” link just above this page.
Thank you for your continued patience and active engagement in our forum!
Best,

Hello Ms. France
I am sorry for the delay in replying as I was busy otherwise. My MacBook Pro is using M1 chipset and BigSur OS. As others have also indicated, I have experienced similar problems. If you still need me to send the screen shots, I shall do so. In that case, pl send me the link from where I can download BOX's installation file. thanks. Hello, I just got a new Mac book pro 13 inch running on M1. I tried to install Box drive which worked but when I try to launch Box drive I get the following error.
Box Drive's system extension failed to load. Please make sure that it has been enabled in system preferences > security & privacy and then restart your computer. If the problem persists, please contact Box Support to further troubleshoot the issue."
I had installed box sync first which seemed to work but then realised that I should have installed box drive instead. It is pretty frustrating that Box is not able to have a clear communication like for example Dropbox which is working without an issue on the M1 laptop.
It is not clear what setting I need to change in the system preferences under security and privacy. Please can someone clarify. I relay on Box for my daily work so this is a big blow.
Attached screen shots of the issue and current system preferences settings.

@Simon
I am also getting the same error. Box supported asked for me to go into safe mode and wipe the Extensions so they populate again. Ended up working, but then I restarted my computer (a normal thing right?) and the prompt for Failed extensions came back up.
Box Drive was approved through our MDM (Jamf)

The efforts to resolve this issue have been non-existent! This issue should have been fixed before Big Sur was even released. Now, Monterey is about to be released and the issue still exists! I can't understand why this isn't fixed yet. Their competitor, DropBox, has worked just fine and regularly released updates. Box, for whatever reason, didn't release a fix during Big Sur's beta period and even after, couldn't resolve the problem.
There was a "hack" to be able to get it working on Big Sur, but the same process doesn't work for Monterey and the instructions that they point you to, don't work. I don't even have an M1. Still an Intel chip but running Monterey public beta. Business lost.

Hi All,
We are excited to announce the next release of Box Drive (v2.23) will provide public beta access to our newest version of Box Drive on Mac, which has been completely updated with a new kext-free architecture which will provide seamless support for M1 and Intel-based Mac devices as well as provide support for macOS 12. This new version of Box Drive is built using Apple's File Provider APIs and no longer requires the use of kernel extensions (or reduced security mode) to run the application. You can learn more and access the public beta on our from our community page.
Thanks everyone for your patience as we've worked to get to this solution!
