About Prefix Search for Metadata

Regarding searches using metadata on BOX, the official document of BOX states that it will be a prefix search, but I think it is actually a perfect match. The search results that are displayed when searching by specifying metadata that matches exactly will not be displayed if only the last character is erased. Is there anything I should be aware of when searching metadata?
