Unable to Join folder on iPad

I receive a link via pdf from folder owner. I click on the link box opens and I see join log in create in upper right corner. I click log in, box.app opens folder but there is no join box. I used to sign into box.com, then click on pdf link and box would open with the join box. Not anymore. How do I join the folder if app.box won’t show?
