Missing Uploads

I've uploaded files, like pictures for example, confirmed they are uploaded, even downloaded some for use and one day I log in to use them again, POOF, GONE. My report does not show them ever being deleted by my account, our admin account or our extra account but they're clearly gone. How is this happening?
