Box View - Everything works but annotations

I have an app that I am adding Box View to so that users may upload documents and be able to preview them and also annotate them Getting Started with the New Box View instructions on how to do this via "App Token Authentication."

My embed URL looks something like this:

https://app.box.com/preview/expiring_embed/ LONG STRING THING>?showDownload=true&showAnnotations=true

The document loads perfectly fine. The download controls appear at the top as expected. There are no errors in the console. Everything looks like it should be in perfect working order, but the annotations bar never shows.

I am generating an annotator token and am making requests using that as per the getting started document.

Has anyone seen this before or has anyone any advice they can offer? Debugging this has been a little bit of a pain because there are no errors and everything seems to be working otherwise. Thanks in advance!

Little bit of a *face palm* but I was passing the wrong token(app token not annotator token) into the request. Once I figured it out the annotations started working.

Hey there, I'm curious how you generated the annotator token using your app token? The only docs I've been able to find use a JWT assertion, which requires a client_secret. I'm a little lost on how to do this without using their JWT auth option.
