Metadata blessed usage

Metadata is still listed as beta.  Any idea when this might be blessed for regular usage, especially via the api's?  From the online documents I noticed disclaimers around the folder based metadata but the file metadata doesn't have the same disclaimers....maybe this means that the file based metadata is already somewhat blessed for usage?

  10 months later, and metadata is still listed as beta.

  (And the warning at the bottom of the "Create metadata template" operation on the API reference makes it look like that applies to files as well as folders: https://docs.box.com/v2.0/reference#create-metadata-schema ).

   

  I also would be interested to hear if there are any plans to promote this out of beta, as I have an opportunity where metadata might be useful to use, but I can't use the feature if it's subject to change without warning.
