API /search: query=: request not required, wildcard, and regex

Since 2014, contributors to this forum have repeatedly requested that endpoint /search not to require query= and to be able to search by type  or file_extensions.

 

The other alternatives that have also been repeatedly requested are:

• wildcard, query=*
• regular expressions

Box API development: Please update /search endpoint.
