Reaching user events via Custom app

Hi,
I opened a custom app on my developer account with the app-token method of authentication. I generated my primary and secondary access token, and tried to use it  to reach the following API endpoint : 

https://api.box.com/2.0/events/  in the format :
Authorization -> Bearer

as my header (And also tried with the secondary one). 
I get an error 403 : "forbidden". 
Is it possible that the events table is not accessible via custom apps? Is there some other reason this could have happen?

  You are correct, please do not use app token auth. We recommend you use either JWT or client-side Oauth 2.0.
