Using Third-Party Solutions to Find Sensitive Information in Box Enterprise+

I need to scan my entire 30TB Box Enterprise Plus instance to find standard types of sensitive information (PII, PHI, PCI) as well as ROT.  

I understand that it is possible to create policies, classifications, and alerts — but I need a way to scan everything that currently exists, and then create a report. 

I cannot find a solution with the included Box admin tools or add-ons.

Does anyone have experience with third-party solutions such as Netwrix, Spirion, BigID, or others, when attempting to detect sensitive information in a large Box repository?

    Hello!

    You can use third-party solutions like Netwrix, Spirion, and BigID to scan your entire 30TB Box Enterprise Plus instance for sensitive information (PII, PHI, PCI) and ROT. These tools can automate the scanning process, identify sensitive data, and provide detailed reports. Netwrix's AnyData for Box, Spirion's data discovery and classification, and BigID's data intelligence and protection are all viable options.     Unfortunately, we do not have third party software to recommend. However, we have the 'Box Shield Malware Deep Scan' feature. 

    Malware Deep Scan is an additional layer of scanning capabilities available in the Box Shield Threat Detection Malicious Content rule.

    This feature leverages a deep learning model that analyzes uploaded and existing files for malicious or suspicious payload, providing superior detection coverage against sophisticated malware that Box's standard scanning may not detect. Coupled with external threat intelligence, Malware Deep Scan enhances protection against known malware and more novel malware possibly uploaded by an internal user or external collaborator.

    Malware Deep Scan analyzes several different file types automatically that can be riskier than everyday file types, and can optionally analyze Microsoft Office files.
