Mac Quick Look feature does not work for Microsoft Office files synced with Box Drive

    Welcome to the Box Community, I'm happy to help!

    What you are experiencing is expected behavior if the file has not been recently opened in Box Drive.  Files will need to be cached to the systems local memory to be viewed in Apples Quick View. Please see second bullet on this article: https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043695774-Mac-Specific-Known-Issues-for-Box-Drive 
     
    To confirm this behavior, will you please open the Office file in Box Drive, then once it has been closed to attempt the Quick View action and it should generate a preview?

    Thanks for the prompt response. I saw that articles and this does not solve my problem. Opening the file and then closing it does not produce a preview of the document.

    All of my work files are synced via Box Drive and the Quick Look feature doesn't work on any of them. Even on files files that I am constantly opening/closing/updating. It is possible there is a setting or permission that is off?

    Any help is greatly appreciated as this is VERY annoying and making it difficult to use Box as I'm often hopping between files and scanning documents.

    Hopefully, we can figure this out.

    Met same problem after upgrade Mac OS Monterey 12.4. Mac finder Quick look does NOT work to synced file (MS files) at Box folder but work as expected in iCloud drive.

    It's very appreciated that Box team could solve this problem.

    Good morning Box team!

    Is there any update on this issue? I have a faculty member that has this exact same issue with the latest MacOS update, but it does not affect an older version he has on another machine. I can get specifics if needed, but I plan to open a ticket as well.

    I've been having the same issue!  I reinstalled Box Sync, and I can see my documents again and not just the file type logo.
