Files being deleted by Box Sync & restoration of files unsuccessful
I realized that critical files were missing from my box folder. Files opened as recently as yesterday and some date back to mid-August. I am 100% confident that Box is removing these files automatically and sending them to the trash folder (they are a couple of megabytes in size). After restoring them, they now will not sync with my PC, so I manually downloaded them via Box.com. Even after this, the files won't sync and are showing in the status bar as unknown time remaining to sync. Box is the only cloud service that I have ever used where mysterious and random deletion of files takes place. I'm wondering if there is a fundamental flaw in the way the system stores files. Any advice?

I emailed customer support and this is their response...
Hello,
Thank you for your response.
I apologize for the inconvenience. I'm going to run a script that will recount all of the files and how much storage is being used in your account. Sometimes Box caches previous file counts and storage amounts causing a data inconsistency. This is a known issue and is a long term project for our engineering team to tackle. However, please be advised that running the script does not delete any of the files.
Let us know if you have other queries. This fixed my issue. I emailed them at support@box.zendesk.com
