Box Shield brings intelligent data classification to the Content Cloud, securing content at scale. Shield automatically scans files against personally identifiable information (PII) and custom terms and phrases, classifies them based on admin-defined policies, and enforces classification-based security controls - reducing the risk of data leakage and enabling secure remote work from anywhere, anytime, and any device.
With access policy monitoring mode, Box Shield Admins can monitor their employees’ access to sensitive content before enforcing access policies. By providing visibility into potential security violations, access policy monitoring mode allows admins to fully assess business impact, and fine tune the access policies as needed before rolling them out, accelerating the implementation of policies for frictionless security and compliance.
By choosing the monitoring only mode for security controls when creating an access policy, Box Shield Admins are able to passively monitor potential access violations such as Download and Print, External Collaboration, Application Access, and etc., without impacting end users in any way. All potential violations will be logged into the Box Event API for ingestion and assessment.
