Box has launched the new Platform Users tab within the Admin Console to provide dedicated
visibility and streamlined management for customer-created App Users. This feature helps
address performance degradation and administrative complexity by centralizing App User
workflows into a single purpose-built interface.
Administrators currently struggle with Managed Users and App Users being mixed together,
which causes significant page load failures for enterprises with millions of accounts. This lack of
separation hinders operational efficiency and obscures the specific application context needed
for effective auditing and security investigations. To resolve these challenges, Box is introducing
a dedicated management space that isolates App Users, ensuring faster load times
and providing critical application-level filtering. This launch empowers administrators to
manage storage quotas, track API access, and investigate incidents without the noise of
irrelevant managed-user permissions.
