folder emtied
AnsweredWhen I opened one of my box folders today using the Box icon on my computer it was emtpty. I did not to my knowledge remove any of its contents. And there are other strange things going on with the folder. When I tried to find the folder by logging into Box, the folder itself did not appear. And when I right-clicked on the folder I can see using the Box icon and selected View on Box.com I got an error message "Oops! We can't seem to find the page you're looking for." When I instead right-clicked on Properties, it shows the folder as read-only when I have previously been able to write as well. Finally, when I tried to delete the folder in the icon, it would not delete. So somehow this folder has been corrupted. Any suggestions as to how to restore it to its pervious state would be welcome.

Hi Bruce,
Welcome to the Box Community, I'm happy to help!
Can you login to your account via a web browser and checked if he folder has contents in Box.com? If the files are present in Box.com however they are not on your Box local folder (Box Drive folder), can you please check on your system tray/ menu bar if there are error notifications related to this folder?
To check for error notifications, please take a look at this article on how to: https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043697614-Miscellaneous-Box-Drive-Error-Notifications
We'd also included possible error that you may encounter in the article with tips/ steps on how to resolve them in case you encounter the same issue.
Hope this helps! If you have other questions, please let us know and we will do our best to help.

Dear France,Thanks for the suggestions!I looked at the document you sent, but had problems obtaining the error notifications. It says"Click the Box icon in your menu bar or system tray to open the Box Drive Search Bar"But the only Box icon I have on my computer is the shortcut which takes me to my Box folders. How do I get to the Box Drive Search Bar in this situation? Also, I already tried logging onto Box.com and the folder in question isn't even listed there! It only shows up (and is supposedly empty) if I use the shortcut. Finally, in case it's relevant, the folder seems to have been emptied while I was working in it while in Canada. I don't know whether being out of the US where I'm based could have anything to do with it.Thanks again for your help.Best, Bruce
