Collaborating and saving on an Excel file in Box
AnsweredWe have multiple people who use an excel tracker stored on Box at the same time. We need to open and edit the Excel file on our desktops so that the macros will enable. It seems that Box does not allow multiple users who are editing an Excel Box file on their desktops (not Excel Online) to save the data they are entering.
Is it doable that these multiple users can be saving their data entries at the same time, when each person is using the same Excel file on their desktop?

Hi Nicole,
Welcome to the Box Community, I'm happy to help!
This should be possible with "Box for Microsoft Office coauthoring" feature.
Box for Microsoft Office coauthoring enables real-time coauthoring on Office desktop, web, and mobile. You can simultaneously edit and collaborate on Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint files on desktop in real-time, with all changes automatically saved to your Box account.
The announcement about this feature can be found in this page: https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/6321087536787-Box-for-Microsoft-Office-co-authoring-on-desktop-phased-GA-starting
In order to leverage the coauthoring feature, users will need to have an Enterprise account.
To learn more about this feature, please take a look at this article: https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/5954058378899-Box-for-Microsoft-Office-coauthoring
Hope that helps!
All the Best,
