Silence user notification emails when files are downloaded via Box API

An app calls Box API to download files on behalf of users. The API token was authorized by primary admin and API header As-User is set to the file owner. The enterprise email notification setting is set to email users when someone downloads files from user-owned or joined folders.

Question is will the silence mode as described in https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/360044192453-Using-Silent-Mode-to-Suppress-User-Notifications suppress notification emails when API performs the download?
