File Path Character Limit-Box Drive
CompletedHello
We are experiencing an issue where Box Drive will not allow file path extensions to be over 255 characters. As noted in previous support posts, this was supposed to be due to Windows' limitation on file path lengths.
However, we've taken the same folder from Box drive, same character length. And we've been able to open it on the Windows desktop. While also being denied access from Box Drive.
I've verified that the registry allows long file paths on the pc.
This appears to be a Box Drive issue.
Is there any way to open up the file extension character limit for Box Drive beyond the stock 255 character length?

Michael Rueca Did you get a resolution to your issue? We are experiencing the same problem.

It is a Box Drive issue. Box is relying on File Explorer limits rather than Windows Operating System limits. We can create and access files with well over 350 character paths on the web interface and iOS Box app. Box needs to open up the Box Drive app for Windows. Using an alternative file browser can bypass the legacy limit of File Explorer on Windows.
