File 'Created/Modified Date' on uploaded files
AnsweredI keep thousands of files on my hard drive dating back 10+ years. The 'modified date' on these files helps me sort and find what I'm looking for. When I uploaded a subset of these forms to test BOX, the 'modified date' isn't included, only an UPLOADED date. So, I can't distinguish two files with similar names that may have been created years apart. Is there a way to have uploaded files show the 'created' or 'modified' date as they do on my hard drive or One Drive?

Hi there,
Welcome to the Box Community!
Box displays the following timestamps for each file operation:
-
Created: The timestamp when the file was created.
This timestamp display does not change if you save or modify this file. - Modified: The timestamp when the contents of a file were last modified.
- Uploaded: The timestamp when the file was uploaded to Box. This timestamp display changes for each uploaded version.
- Updated: The timestamp when the file was last changed in Box (Modified or Uploaded).

Looking forward in assisting you.

Created: The timestamp when the file was created.

Hi, I read the "Understanding Box File Time stamps" page and installed Box Drive (Windows 10) specifically to preserve Created by dates. So far I have not been able to get it to work (photos). I have tried all sorts of things - simple drag and drop of individual files into Box Drive folder (Windows Explorer), dragging entire folder into Box Drive folder, zipping Folder or files before dragging in Box Drive, then unzipping. Every time the Created and Modified dates are changed to the current date - when viewed in either Box Drive (Windows Explorer) or the Web app. Is there something I am doing wrong? Thank you for your help.
