Box folder on local machine disappears when box drive shuts down
AnsweredI am wondering if there has been a recent change to how Box Drive deals with the local Box folder?
Previously the Box folder c:\users\username\box contained all of the files from box and could be accessed even after Box Drive quits. Recently this folder is disappearing when Box Drive stops, but when Box Drive restarts the folder re-appears. There does not seem to be a lot of disk activity during the stop / start so i suspect that the folder is being renamed or hidden.
We have had a workstation that has failed to sync and we would like to access the folder on the local machine, but are having troubles re-starting box drive. Is there a way to access the folder when box drive is not running?
Thanks,
Rob

Hi Rob,
Welcome to Box Community and glad to help!
To guarantee your access to your local Box folder, you should always have your Box Drive application running.
Please ensure that you're running the latest version of your Box Drive application. If you need to update it, please feel free to follow the steps here.
However, if it's recurring and your Box Drive is up to date. Kindly reset your Box Drive manually and here are the steps.
Hope it works! Let us know how it goes.
