    Welcome to Box Community and glad to help! 

    When you log out of your Box application and your files are not uploaded in the box website, your Box application will likely to delete your unsynced files. That's why we recommend doing so. 

    However, if there's essential files in your local Box folder that will be compromised of you logging out your Box application, please proceed and reset your Box Drive manually and here's the steps.
