Unknown IP login possible data breach
AnsweredHi There support team,
I'm setting up my new Apple computer with Box sync. An files need to be synced (downloaded to the new computer) upon review today 3rd of July on Box web, I find there was an access from Box sync (on Mac computer) from Jakarta, Indonesia on Sat 1st July, then on Sunday 2nd of July I receive 2 unknown Whatsapp calls from Indonesia.
I believe I've taken steps before to secure account (strong pass and 2 factor auth), but the coincidence of the Login and call from Indonesia makes me nervous there might have been a data breach. Is there a way to have more information (logs) from the Jakarta ip? whether there was full download of Synced folders?.
Or, could you please let me know what steps to follow to confirm if there was a data breach?
Thanks in advance

Hi Ivan,
Welcome to Box Community and glad to help!
We recommend on creating a strong password to protect your Box login:
- A "strong" password is a password of increased complexity. By default, Box does not require any specific level of complexity beyond the minimum number of characters.
- A “strong” password must contain more characters than the minimum allowed. We recommend including numbers, special characters, and a mix of upper- and lowercase letters, but these are not required – they just help increase key space.
- You can follow Box guidelines for strong passwords: using at least 8 characters, with either a combination of numbers, uppercase letters, or special characters (i.e. $#@&!).
