Moving folders from one box.com to another box.com
AnsweredHi
I am retiring from my business and will no longer have access to the Box account run by the business. it will be transferred to the new business owners.
I wish to move the folders holding my personal information to my new Box account.
I have followed the steps of inviting my new email address in as an editor, and then changing to co-owner (owner is not an option ). However the access given to my new Box account is temporary and if I delete the test file in my business Box account it is deleted in my new Box account.
How do I move the folders from the old business Box account to the new one please.

Hi Margaret,
Welcome to Box Community! Let me see what I can do to help!
What you did is correct, inviting the new account as collaborator. However, you need to go back to the old account and transfer the folder ownership to the new account.
Simply follow the instructions below, and select Owner from the access level dropdown (this option is only visible to folder owners). The collaborator you designate will be the new "Owner" of the folder and your access level will be downgraded to "Editor".
To modify a collaborator's access level in a folder:
- Open the appropriate folder.
- You will see a list of collaborators in the right-hand sidebar.
- Click a collaborator's name to to view all the collaborators in this folder.
- Find the collaborator whose access level you would like to modify. You can search by name using the Filter Collaborators search box in the upper right.
- Under the Permissions column, click the user's access level to modify it. Select the appropriate access level from the dropdown that appears. If the access level is greyed out, you may not have the necessary permissions to modify that user's access level.

I hope this answers your question. Let me know if there is something else that I can help you!
