Unable to open Excel and word files from Box drive in MAC pro

Recently, I have been experiencing problem in opening Excel and word files from Box drive in my MAC pro Laptop. The same file when downloaded to "Documents" folder can be opened. It is almost like Deadlock and the entire Excel or Word application gets hung due to this and I cannot open any other files.
I will have to quit the application from the "Activity Monitor" panel and then it gets opened sometimes. in other cases, I have to restart the system. This is really causing frustration and not meeting the purpose of using Box drive.
Request for a permanent solution for this problem
