Lost Powerpoint file - box sync to laptop
AnsweredI created a ppt presentation, saved to my synced box account on my laptop. I spilled liquid on my laptop which fried it. When I opened box (both the local synced version and the online platform) on my new laptop, a very old version of the document was there - but none of my hours of work from June 25th/26th. I've looked in the version history and there are no older versions. Is there any way to find the latest version?

Hello,
I’m sorry to hear about your laptop and the missing work. Here are a few steps you can try to recover the latest version of your presentation:
Check Box Recents:
Go to the Recents page in Box. This shows the last 1000 files you’ve accessed, which might include your latest version1.
Verify Version History:
Ensure you’re checking the version history correctly. Navigate to your file in Box, click the ellipsis ( … ) next to the file name, and select Version History2.
Look for Unsynced Changes:
If you used Box Sync or Box Drive, check if there were any unsynced changes on your old laptop. Sometimes, files might not sync properly if there were connectivity issues.
I hope this will help you.Best regards,
Florence Gayhart

Hi Jacqueline,
Welcome to Box Community and glad to assist!
Sorry to hear about this incident. Meanwhile, please note that we can't restore deleted contents from your local Box folder especially if the file didn't get uploaded/synced up to the Box website.
It seems that the changes didn't made it to box.com and so, no new file version was created.
Thanks for posting!
