Extensions for Google Doc?

Hello,
I am trying to use an extension with Google doc through Box but the option does not exist. See picture.
This is really important because I use Zotero with collaborators to add citations. Can you please tell me if this is an institutional issue (with my educational account) or if its a Box issue.

It appears that you’re encountering an issue with using the Zotero extension in Google Docs through Box. You can troubleshoot this: Authorization: Ensure that you’ve authorized the Zotero Connector to access your Google account. Select the Google account associated with the document or one that has editing access. Grant Zotero permission to “See, edit, create, and delete all your Google Docs documents.” Collaborators: Collaborators editing the document must also have the Zotero Connector installed. Make sure all collaborators have the necessary extensions. Debugging Existing Documents: If you can insert citations into a new, empty Google Doc but encounter errors in an existing document: Restart both Zotero and your browser. Ensure you’re using the latest versions of Zotero and the Zotero Connector. Disable other browser extensions and reload Google Docs. Try making a copy of the document to see if the issue persists.

I'm confused by your comment.
I've already granted Zotero permission.
As you can see in the photos, the Google Docs within Box does not have an "Extension" option (in addition to Zotero). Creating a copy of this does not change. There are no collaborators on this document at this time either.
This is not an issue with Zotero, it seems to be an issue with Box. Does Box allow for add-ons and extensions for Google docs?

As of this writing, Box does not have any control over the functionality provided in the Box for Google Editor since the editor is provided by Google. No third-party extensions are available in the Box for Google Workspace editor.

it looks like Extensions in general are not supported by Box for google docs. That's terrible and frankly very disappointing.
