Access Box Drive on Linux using Virtualbox
AnsweredI am not asking (why) isn't there a Box drive client for linux? It's been asked 41 times before and the answer seems to consistently be "cuz we don't wanna". I am looking at alternative approaches to access Box Drive on Linux (Ubuntu). I had been using ExpanDrive, but 1) it's seems completely dead (no response from developers for a couple of years) and 2) it can cause conflicts, which wind up sending shared files to the trash for everyone (yeah, that was embarrassing for me... again, no response from the developers). WebDAV was horribly slow and has now been shut off by Box.com anyway.
So, here is what I have been thinking. I have Windows Virtualbox virtual machine running on my linux system that is running Box Drive. I want to setup a local SMB fileshare with the host machine (linux) to share that Box Drive location. It seems to not want to let me do this, so I am wondering if anyone has had any luck doing this.
I am also very open to other ideas of how to directly access my Box.com files on my linux file system (i.e. not use a browser).
Thanks,
Michael

I have no idea why this thread is marked as answered as it clearly isn't. My Enterprise team isn't going to have an answer for this problem or it would already be well known. I wanted to see if anyone else in the community forums had clever ideas. Rona, please mark this as unanswered.
