I'm trying the box with the trial version, can it be used to test collaboration with other parties? or do I need another license? please explain.

With your account tariff, each external collaboration would mean another seat/license count. Which means, there will be an extra charge for each collaboration invite.
To prevent this, you may want to consider upgrading your account to utilize unlimited external collaborators. For more details, you can visit box.com/pricing.
