Box will eratically not open any Microsoft documents

When I am trying to open any kind of Microsoft document for which there is the possibility to open it externally with some Microsoft product, like Word or Excel or PowerPoint, I am getting erratically, but annoyingly often the effect (a few times per day), that it seems to open the document, but that this message below will be displayed forever and nothing will happen. From this moment on, this error is persisting and I will not be able to open any other Microsoft documents from within Box anymore (except within Word/Excel/PowerPoint Online, but the features there are too restricted, so I rarely use it), until I reboot Then it usually is working again, i.e. any Microsoft-documents can be opened with a Mircrosoft-specific app. But once the next document is not opening, again, rebooting is again needed.
Quite detrimental to workflow.
This kind of message is displayed forever without anything happening:
