Users without a Box - how to edit?

Is it possible to permit users without a Box account to EDIT a document?

If so, is it possible to achieve this by sending a link? Or must invite them by email?

  No, I'm afraid. Instead, I'd encourage your colleague to setup an account for free in order to edit your shared document.
