Query JRE for Box Folder upload

What is the earliest version of Java compatible with IE 11 for the Folder upload feature?

 

Version 8 update 60 doesn't appear to be sufficient, unless the errors we're seeing are spurious.

 

The underlying platform is Server 2008 R2 SP1.

 

All the help articles I can find just say "install the latest", which on a heavy multi-user machine would be rather brave.
