box metadata cascading value not changing to child folder on update

HI,

I have a folder in which metadata cascading is applied So it inherits all the property from parent to child. But when I update any value on parent it does not get updated to the child folder and files rather it remain old value. 

here are some resources I used

Any Idea why it does not change to child folder and file! And how to overcome this problem.

  Hi  - Metadata Cascade doesn't overwrite existing values on child items when the parent is updated unless you specifically force application of new values. When you choose to force the application of the policy to child items, you can choose for it to either overwrite the existing values on child items with the new values from the parent or to skip child items that already have the cascaded template applied. Note that if you choose to overwrite the existing values it replaces the entire metadata instance on the child item with that of the parent - there is on way to merge fields.
