How to extract Box activity logs?

That data is tracked and you can see it, but currently can't download it. You could pull it programmatically via the API, but that's probably not worth your time unless you wanted a simple programming project. Since Box acquired Wagon, the reporting company a year or two ago, there has been talk of them making better reporting tools for end users. Those would naturally include the ability to download. I've not seen anything more than talk about it yet though.

    Thanks Bob!

Programmatically is an option. Where are the API definitions/info?

You can find the API reference at https://developer.box.com/v2.0/reference.

I'm afraid I am not a developer and could not advise you on specifics. I recommend you post your specific questions to the Box Developer Forum and let the professionals respond. Make sure you mention whether you have admin rights or just user rights as that affects which events you have access to.

    Best of luck,

    Hi  and ,

Thanks for your post in the community!

As part of the workaround suggested by , we have 2 options that you can use to track the activities done on your files. You can use Access Stats to see who viewed and downloaded it. This is only available to Starter, Business, Business Plus, and Enterprise accounts.

Also, Running a Report for Business and Enterprise admins can monitor activity and view data about their Box accounts by generating reports in the Admin Console. Reports can be generated on-demand for any specified time period and these reports can go back as far as 7 years, or as long as you have an account tariff with reporting access.

That question will probably be better answered on the Developer Forum.

    Best of luck,
