    Hi Clange,

    Welcome to the Box Community!

Box for Teams allows you to share your Box contents via Teams without having to go back and forth between programs (Box and Microsoft teams). As mentioned in the shared article the following actions can be taken using the integration:

    • Share
    • Allow/deny permissions
    • Preview
    • Download

If you need to edit your Box files, you may install Box Tools/ Box Edit or Box Drive which will allow you edit contents in your Box account using your local Microsoft office apps.

Please see the following articles to learn more about these applications:

Thanks for your participation in the forum and let us know how else we can help!

    Ok, good. So:

If I am using Box Edit, and I want to open/edit a Box file from Teams post, do I need to (1) click View File, (2) click View on Box, (3) click Open, and (4) choose a program? Is that the way to do it?

Is it possible to open/edit a Box file from the Box tab in Teams? I don't see an open or edit option there.

    Hi Clange,

Currently, you won't be able to edit your Box File in Teams. That is not part of the current integration.  However, Teams redirects you to the Box Web app.  From there you can edit the file using the document editor of your choice (you would need Box tools installed if you wish to open the file on your local desktop applications).

@france, is there anything new with the Teams integration in the past 10 months? Can I edit my Box file from Teams yet?
