Lost folders on Box
AnsweredHi:
I had a 100GB account on box and I noticed recently several folders are missing. Can someone help me please. I have looked at my trash and I did not delete any folders. I have been using this space to store some important files and had relied on them for some time. Suddenly a few months ago, several folders went missing. I had my laptop synced with box and it deleted the files as well. Can someone please help me retrieve these files? I am willing to upgrade my account if needed.
Would really appreciate your help. I can be reached at my email at <personal information-redacted>
Thanks,
Anil

Hi there,
Welcome to Box Community and glad to assist!
If your files are missing, you can check your trash to find it.
Notes:
- When items are deleted from a collaboration folder, both the owner and the person who deleted the item can recover the items from the Trash.
- If you are removed as a collaborator from a file or folder that you've deleted, you no longer see that item in Trash. To see the item in Trash, you must be again added as a collaborator to that item.
As soon as you find the missing item, you can restore it this way,
The steps below apply whether you’re selecting from search results or from all Trash items.
- Hover to highlight the row of the item you want. The More Options ellipsis (…) displays.
- Click the ellipsis (...). Then:
- To return the item to its original location in Box, click Restore
- At the prompt, click Okay.
To easily manage your trash, please see this article.
Thanks for posting!

Hi Rona,
thanks for responding. I checked the trash and they are not in there. I never deleted the files and there are no collaborators.
Can someone please help restore my files? I have some important memories of my family in those files. Would appreciate anything you can do to restore them. If I need to upgrade my account to enable the restoration, I am willing to do that.
Thanks for your attention and help
Regards
Anil
