Disabling Infinite Scroll
Is there a way to disable the infinite scrolling and restore paging through files? I do maintenance on projects with thousands of files and it's hilariously awful trying to do that with the infinite scroll turned on.
I see that there are two control variables (isFilesPageInfiniteScrollEnabled
isSearchPageInfiniteScrollEnabled) in the user account for doing so, but no controls for toggling between options, or did I miss a button somewhere?

Unfortunately, we don't currently offer the feature you asked on the option to disable infinite scrolling and switch to pagination.If this is something you would like to be able to do, I would highly recommend submitting this feature request at pulse.box.com! The account settings page under the user icon in the upper right corner still offers "Files and Folders Per Page" as an option, with a dropdown that lists reasonable numbers of files to display at one time.
So there's a bug issue that should be put in, either to kill that tempting option on the account settings page, or to return the option to users who are dealing with unmanageably large numbers of files.
This isn't just a 'feature', it's locking up browsers as the infinite scroll tries to display 100,000 files at once. Which got there because an external application dumped files into the folder when it should not have, so now the pollution mitigation has to happen in box.com because the external app isn't enabled to delete files from box.com.

In Box's most recent User Interface release, Infinite Scroll (a web-design technique that loads content continuously as the user scrolls down the page, eliminating the need for pagination) was made standard. The Files and Folders per page setting that you see under the Account Settings > General Options section allow users to modify the default number of files and folders displayed on pages other than the "All Files page", example of this are Recents and Trash.
Our Engineers release new features like this based on the feedback they receive from our customers. The decision to make Infinite Scroll standard in the WebApp was due to enough customers voting to have that feature. If you would like to leave feedback, please feel free to do so using Box Pulse.
