    Hi Carlos,

Welcome to the Box Community and thank you for your post!

I reached out to our specialist about the issue you are running into and it looks like this is not a supported scenario where you can use Box Drive.

Box Drive as a backup destination for Time Machine, or as a place to backup a Time Machine backup drive are both not supported for a few reasons:

    • Time Machine relies heavily on MacOS HFS+ and APFS features.  Box and Box Drive do not support those features.  As such, any backup of Time Machine files will not work as a Time Machine source if restored.
    • Time Machine can backup to a disk image. The problem with disk images is that even when small changes are made to a backup, the entire disk image is changed, and must be re-uploaded again.  This will waste tons of bandwidth for the customer, and cause other usage of Drive to slow down.

Hope this provides clarification to the issue you encounter. Feel free to write back in if you have any questions and we will do our best to help you!

    Regard,
