Disastrous RAM drain
On my Mac Pro, I've had this horrible RAM drain issue for 6 months, and I finally realized that Box was the cause of it. My Ram would get drained from 7% startup (I have 384G of RAM which takes a long time to fill up) in the morning, and reach 75% 6 hours later, even if my Mac was idle. If I let it go to 100%, it would crash and shut down. I finally figured out that I could quit all Box processes via Activity Monitor, so I fist Quit the Box app, then I force-quit Box Autoupdater (the big drainer) and Box Helper from Activity Monitor. Then suddenly my memory usage was back down to 11%, and I was able to go all the way down to 7% after a SUDO purge command. I have to uninstall Box for now on my Mac until it's fixed.
Does anyone know how to contact Box tech support so they can look into this?
