Hi France,
The last step of Google authentication is requiring a Box authentication code (that can be quite delayed via the UK o2 mobile network).
Previously I just had to authenticate via the Authenticator APP for Google.
This has been an unwelcome change as delays my access into Box

Thanks for responding back.
As far as i know, you can only choose one specific 2FA method, its either using Authenticator app or vis SMS code. For details, please see https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043697154-Multi-Factor-Authentication-Set-Up-for-Your-Account
You may have changed this method in your account settings or company settings (if you are an Admin/ Co-admin) in the Security settings of your enterprise if you are now being ask to authenticate with SMS code.
