Hello,
my files saved in imac box folder were not syncing with box drive online.
so after logging out from my mac Box app.
my local box folder was deleted and now I have lost all my files. This is really strange as it doesn't happen with any other cloud drive like Dropbox, google drive etc.
Logout means logout not deleting my files from my machine.
why box folders and my all files were deleted from My Mac.
i have just done logout not deleted my account.
i have again logged in with my account [personal information--redacted]
but now my box folder is empty in my machine.

Hi Deepak,
Welcome to the Box Community and I'm sorry to hear about what happened to your files.
If you find that your files/ folders in Box Drive are not syncing to Box online, we do not recommend logging out as this would delete the content in Box Drive that did not save or sync to Box cloud.
As stated in this article: https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043697494-Using-Box-Drive-Basics
Logging out completely removes all traces of your Drive usage from your machine and enables you to log in again as a new user. Also, when you log out, your Box Drive session ends and the login screen displays. In addition, logging out of Box Drive deletes all of the downloaded content you had marked for offline availability. This of course clears up hard disk space on your device. It also returns to an online-only state all of the content you have marked for offline availability. You will have to repeat the process of marking folders for offline availability.
Since the contents did not make it to Box online, if you've logged out of Box Drive, there is no way to recover the content on Box end.
Thanks for your participation in the forum and let us know if you have any questions.

Hi All,
I really hope I am dreaming. This cannot truly be a feature that Box thinks is a good idea or an intentional action by most users -- that users logging out (which can happen in so many abrupt ways, random crashes etc.) would want to automatically delete all traces of files and folders without the ability to recover a previous version of them. At least on their back-end they must have a cached version saved for a week or so after this happens right, just for mere customer support reasons? There is no way Box really thinks that these kinds of account wipes would be intentional.
That being said, as of right now, I am not able to find my files and folders on Box.com or on Desktop Sync, or how to recover a previous version.
Deepak Panchal, any solutions found? Were you able to recover your files? Really would be hard to believe there is no solution to such a common / easy error.
France, is there a way to retrieve them on Box.com? Let us know if you have any suggestions!
Thanks a lot and best regards,
Joe
