Files amended on iPad not showing up on Mac
Hi. I have made changes to a PDF document in a box folder on my iPad, by making notes using an apple pencil. I have saved the changes, quit, then gone back in and the notes show up. However when I look at the same document on my mac, those notes aren't there. Is this a syncing issue, and if so, how can I force BOX to sync? Thanks

Hi Laurence,
Welcome to the Box Community!
When you said you looked at the same document on your Mac, did you mean you are using Box desktop app such as Box Drive and access the PDF in there but the changes are not showing up?
If yes, can you try to quit Box Drive and then restart the app and check the file again and see if the changes will reflect?
Looking forward to hear from you!

Hi
Many thanks for the reply.
On my MAC I have BOX set up as a drive in Finder. That is where I access the documents usually as it is easier to navigate compared to the website system. I am not sure if that is what is called Box Drive.
I have disconnected box in Finder, then restarted the BOX application I have, which has reloaded the drive. The document is still showing no notes, just a blank document unfortunately.

Hi Laurence,
Okay so it looks like you are using Box Drive app which appears as "Box" in Finder.
To clarify, did you use Box annotations feature which allows you markup documents while previewing them on your Box iPad app or did you open the file stored in Box into another application and made your edits using the third party apps?
If you used Box annotations feature, you will only be able to see your markups when you preview the file on your mobile app and in Box Webapp. Box annotations won't show up on the Desktop apps like Box Drive.

Hi
Ah, I think that must be the issue. I opened the pdf in the box ipad app.
Thank you soo much for that.
I guess my next question is, would there be anyway to make notes via the Ipad on pdf documents, save them and view them via the desktop? It seems like a big flaw to have the app, and allow note marking via the app and Apple Pencils, yet those notes not viewable on every box platform.
Thanks again

Hi Laurence,
Box for iOS uses 3rd party apps to edit files.
To edit a file, select the “Open” button (the arrow button at the bottom) and you will get a list of apps you can edit from. There are some applications you can install into your device as "Documents To Go" which is an all-in-one iOS editing application with support for Microsoft® Word, Excel & PowerPoint, PDF, Apple iWork and other files. It offers most of the features you are accustomed to in desktop editing software, plus it allows you to load and save files directly to and from Box.

By the way, you can download Documents To Go here and if you run into issues with the app can contact their support team at support@dataviz.com.
