How do I store my box synced folder to an external hard drive?
I have a 15" macbook running on OS 10.11.6 and I can't seem to move my synced folder to an external hard drive. Is this even possible? I don't have enough storage on my local drive to save all of my work files. The external drive seems to be my only option.

Hi David,
Welcome to the Box Community, I'm happy to help!
I understand that you are looking to move your Synced folder into an external hard drive, unfortunately this is not supported for Box Sync app.
If you are looking to save spaces, recommend to do the following:
- Only sync folders in which you are actively working
- Sync the lowest level sub-folder possible
- Un-sync folders immediately when they are no longer needed
For more information on how to maximize the use of Box Sync app and for best performance, please take a look at this article: https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/360044194753-Maximizing-Box-Sync-PerformanceBest regards,Comment actions -
This is terrible! I am currently working on a project with daily active folders being 5-10gB each. I HAVE to have them active all the time. My system drive is only 500gB and these files threaten to overrun the drive! You MUST figure out a way to sync a local Box folder on an external drive, as with Dropbox. (no offense) I will quite literally not be able to work with this workflow. Do you have any suggestions?
