How to refer other files in a BOX folder.
Hi,
My company's ICT team has introduced your BOX service to substitute legacy on-premises file servers.
I have been using Excel based small system in which I use hyperlink connection among several Excel files. I tried to migrate my system to a folder in BOX and found that it is impossible to locate other files using hyperlink even when those files are all in same BOX folder.
Could you kindly teach me how to refer other files in BOX folder?
You may say I should use sharing link (a string that indicate location of a file in BOX system), but it is very difficult to use. I prefer to use a linking strings like "Server name + folder name + Excel file name + Excel sheet name + Object label".

Hi there,
Welcome to the Box Community, I'm happy to help!
Have you checked out this article on Configuring the default Box Drive Folder Location?- This article discusses resolving issues around file-to-file linking via absolute paths as seen in many popular apps such as Excel, Word, InDesign, and so on. Relative file path links should work regardless of the Box Drive folder location. For more on absolute and relative paths, see the Related Links section at the end of this article.
This may be relevant to your problem with the next steps.Let us know if you have any questions, and we will help you!Best regards,Comment actions -
Hi.,
Thank you very much for your quick reply.
Unfortunately my company's ICT section does not allow to use BOX Drive due to some security concerns which I don't know the details.
I would be very happy if there is a way to solve my problem without using BOX drive.Best regards,
Hashikawa
