Box Sync Across Two Computers

I have been a long supporter of Box for many years and love the product, thank you
I use BoxSync v4.0.8057 on 1 PC (Win8.1 64-bit) and recently was required to rebuild my laptop (Win8.1 64-bit). I successfully installed BoxSync v4.0.8057 on my rebuilt laptop and it backed up successfully.
I restarted the laptop and BoxSync began re-syncing my files again when no files have been changed. This process does not seem to end and now my laptop BoxSync says it needs over 9hours to sync 304 files.
And after 2 weeks, BoxSync on my laptop appears to never sync, always stating a horrendous amount of time to complete but never finishing.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled BoxSync and the problem resurfaces when I restart my machine.
Any Ideas ?

Are you able to upgrade your current OS version to the latest Windows OS? It sounds like you might be running Box Sync app on an unsupported OS here.

Than you for your responseTo confirm, by the link you provided that ONLY following OS are supported: Windows & Windows Server - The two latest released versions (64-bit). Does that mean ONLY Windows 10 & 11 are supported & Windows 8.1 is NOT?
And unfortunately I cannot upgrade from Windows 8.1 at this stage without significant hardware costs. Are there any other options available to me?
