    Hi Douglas,

    Welcome to the Box Community!

I ran a script to fix the file size count in your used storage and should be seeing the right file size count.
You can check this by going to your Box console> Account Settings>Account> Account Details> Storage ( used/total).
You can also check this article from our Box Support page about "Storage".
Box Support is able to run a script for specific end-users’ accounts to fix the data inaccuracy issues around user storage size, folder size, and file counts. Please note that while the issue may be fixed, we are unable to guarantee that the account will not be affected by the issue again - particularly for users with massive amounts of content.

    AJ,

I run into this too. I agree, Box tries to sell you more space instead of correctly displaying the size of the files in your account. Its been a repeated problem for me over the years. If a user does not find the discrepancy themself they're scammed out of their storage / money. "Scammed" is a strange word for an otherwise legitimate service like box.com but it does feel like being scammed.

Here is what it looks like trying to work with box to stop them from scamming user storage:

    (support chat)

Me: Please Run Script to free up space.

Box: Hi Aaron, thank you for contacting Box Billing Support! This is Jenny, I understand you're needing assistance from Product Support to run a scripti to reflect correct storage.

Box: Before we start, can you please confirm if this is the email address associated with your box account: #####

    Me: Correct

Box: Thanks for confirming the email. Your concern is best handled by our Product Support. For the time being, we don't have chat support for personal accounts. I'll convert this chat to email then forward your case to them for further assistance and one of the members will reach out to you via email to address your concerns.
