    Hi Louis,

    Welcome to the Box Community!

Is the content in your trash? Are you the owner or deleter of this content? When a file is deleted, both the person who deleted the item and the owner of the item will be able to retrieve it from their trash. The Trash is located under Bin-- you can also review this article for more details on this process:

Is the content in another user's trash? If the files aren’t in your personal trash, they might be in the trash of the person who deleted or owned the files.
If you know who deleted or owned this content, please contact this user and instruct them to restore the files from their trash.
I still can't find my files. If you still can't find your files, then one of the following might be true:
    • Was the folder a shared folder in which you collaborated with others? If so, the owner of the folder could have removed your access to the content. In this case you’ll need to contact the folder owner and ask to be re-invited.This person will need to re-invite you to the folder using the email address associated with your Box Account.
    • The files in question have been already emptied from the trash. Trash content on Box can be manually or automatically removed, depending on the settings for your enterprise.
    • The files you’re looking for were never uploaded to Box.com. The content in question could have been uploaded to a different Box account or service, or a problem might have occurred during the upload, resulting in these files not making it to your account as expected.
    Hope this helps.

Same thing happened to me, looks like Box has a serious technical issue that they have no idea about. All of my stuff disappeared, then resynced itself to cause duplicates, which I then deleted, which then deleted the originals too.

Time to leave Box I think.

    Ben:

I've been using CAD since 1982 - the advice to check the trash was a good one.

Kinda like searching for my car keys for two hours and then finding them in my pocket.

Or - maybe I actually put the files in Google Drive and just didn't realize it. Duh.

Or - somebody else deleted them - I checked with the other users and that wasn't the case.

    BOX has some real issues.

Bottom line - the files were gone and if not in the trash, where'd they go to?

Not being able to contact BOX shows me the people running the place don't want to be

bothered by a bunch of "pesky" customers needing help - so it gets turned over to the "community".

After an hour or so of checking everything out I got the files back, and now I have a work around.

I've not spent the time trying to figure out what happened - no idea, the day before the files were there,

and the next day GONE. Wish I knew what happened to help you out but I just don't know. Keeping a

good list of what's in there and when it got placed there would be a good idea. The list BOX creates

in my case was gone as well. No help there.

Been using BOX for a couple months now and it's like clam digging in a mine field.

    Good luck Ben
