Characters to avoid in file and folder names
Slightly unclear as to what characters should be avoided in file and folder names when using Box.
For example is it ok to use spaces within a filename (not at the beginning or end), or can this cause problems in transferring?
Would it be better to use underscores or hyphens instead?

Hi Sarah.
Welcome to the Box Community, I'm happy to help!
There are indeed some limitations on characters/ symbols when naming your folders and files in Box:
- Box only supports file or folder names that are 255 characters or less. File names containing non-printable ascii, "/" or "\", names with leading or trailing spaces, and the special names “.” and “..” are also unsupported. Box supports only Unicode Basic Multilingual Plane (BMP) characters in file and folder names.
- The file or folder's path on Windows machines should be under the 255-character Windows limitation. Folder paths that exceed 255 characters may truncate the content's name before uploading to Box.

Is there a way to resolve the issue above? IE: creating new parent folder etc?
