When viewing a specific version of a Box file, is the Browser URL static?
完了I'm evaluating the potential for using Box as a "permanent" repository for documents which require a static URL to their location in Box from a PLM system. This is fairly simple to do when the Box file version is the latest version.
When the document version is not the latest (e.g., the latest is v3, but the PLM system needs a link to v2), then this is a bit tricky.
It's clear that sharing a URL to a specific Box file version is not natively supported by Box, but I am curious if sharing the web browser URL is an acceptable workaround? I have found that navigating to a specific version of a Box file in a web browser (e.g., Chrome), copying the URL from the address bar, and then pasting it into another web browser window will prompt me to login to Box and then the expected version of the file will load - this is the exact behavior I need (URL to a specific version)!
My question is does that version specific URL remain static, or does it change for any reason at some interval? Once I add that URL to our PLM system, the URL needs to remain static so that the file version it points to can be referenced in a web browser at any point moving forward.
