Box API with non-person accounts

Hi All,

 

I am researching the feasibility of using Box API with a non-person account so that we can automate uploading of a file from a server process to a Box folder. Can anyone provide directions or resources as to how this would work?

   This sounds like a great use case for a Box Service Account. After reading through the Service Account docs, this getting started guide would be a good next step.

   Thanks for the response. A couple of questions of using service accounts with PHI folders and the general workflow:

   

  1) Would I create the app with the service account that also owns the PHI folder and use this account to interact with it?

  2) Can I use a service account to access another PHI folder that has a different owner?

  3) Is the workflow the same as if it was done with a normal user's account? From creating the app and authenticating, to accessing the folders.
