2FA Phone Number Invalid Format

I am trying to enable 2FA for a folder someone else created.  No format of a US phone number (10 digits) seems to be accepted (using Chrome). The phone number popup says "The phone number you entered is invalid." for formats like:

### ### ####

###-###-####

(###) ### ####

(###)-###-####
