switching from FPE to kernal on the mac

I am a long time windows user and have recently gotten a mac. Obviously the new FPE on the mac is not what i want - I want it to be the same as a windows pc. I had no clue about the differences when I installed on the mac.

I've seen another post about this which sounds like was not the best solution so I'm willing to remove box completely to reinstall. Will this allow me to install the kernal version? Or will an uninstall leave unwanted files on the computer?

  Welcome to Box Community! 

  We've streamlined Box Drive in the new standard filesystem Apple will be utilizing moving forward. And switching to kernel-version is no longer an option especially for macOS BigSur and Monterey (and above.)
